Established in 1959 by Wallace A. Ross, the Clio Awards annually honor global excellence in advertising, design, and communication, spanning categories from traditional advertising to digital and beyond. Judged by industry experts, winning a Clio signifies peak creative achievement.

Since 2019, the Clio Cannabis Awards have celebrated the best in cannabis marketing and communications. The awards have quickly become a benchmark for creative excellence in the rapidly expanding cannabis sector.

This year, the success of Missouri’s cannabis industry was apparent at the 2023 Clio Cannabis Awards, with multiple local companies receiving recognition.

Show-Me Organics operates a house of a scene leading brands like Vivid, Buoyant Bob, and Missouri’s Own Edibles. In 2022, Missouri’s Own Edibles made waves for its partnership with snack maker Old Vienna, and was awarded a coveted Clio Grand statue for the effort.

This year, Show-Me Organics earned six Clio Cannabis Awards, two silver, four bronze, and one shortlist inclusion. The company’s Ask Your Doctor campaign was awarded Silver in the Social Good category, and earned 3 bronze awards for Advocacy, Film & Video: 30 Seconds and Under, and Film & Video Craft: Copywriting, respectively.

“Creativity and cannabis go hand in hand, and we’re grateful to The Clio Awards – a symbol of creativity – for spotlighting creativity within cannabis because it elevates the industry as a whole,” Tony Billmeyer, Chief Marketing Officer at Show-Me Organics, expained.

The Buoyant Bob brand also received recognition, taking home a silver award for “The Man Who Got So High” in the Branded Entertainment & Content Category, and a bronze award for Brand Design for the same campaign. The Missouri’s Own Edibles brand received a shortlist inclusion for Product Innovation for its Cannabis Coffee Pods.

“We’re fortunate to partner with world-class agencies and freelance creatives that help us bring nontraditional ideas to life and elevate Show-Me Organics’ house of brands to an elevated platform. This year our six Clios came from partnerships with Powderbox and The Ski Team on Buoyant Bob’s ‘The Man Who Got So High’ and Bandits & Friends on the ‘Ask Your Doctor’ campaign,” Billmeyer said.

Elevate, one of Missouri’s fastest-rising cannabis brands, was recognized twice for its “The Cannabis Connoisseur” campaign. The innovative design and campaign earned a bronze award in the Print & Out of Home category, along with a shortlist nod in the Brand Design category.

One of the most buzzed-about products in Missouri this year, the Good & Hi THC Infused Dipping Sauce, also received recognition. The product, a collaboration between High Fidelity, Good Taste Edibles, and Hi-Pointe, secured a shortlist inclusion in the Partnerships & Collaborations category.
