Kentucky Cannabis Revenue Reaches Over $100 Million

Kentucky surges past the $100 million mark
New figures released by the Department of Health and Senior Services announced monthly reporting of retail sales numbers for the medical marijuana program for August.
July set new record highs in monthly sales retail sales bringing in $21.03 million over the month, growing 22.16% over the previous month.
August continued the surging upward trend, growing 3.22% over July and charting historically high sales for the fourth consecutive month. Ending monthly reporting for the month shows a total of $21.73 million in retail revenues for August.
This brings Kentucky’s cumulative sales to $113.09 million for the life of the program, now just 10 months into retail sales. Additionally, Kentucky has charted $107.76 million in total revenues for the calendar year of 2021.
The state now boasts over 5,000 employees in the medical marijuana industry, which does not include hemp operations, ancillary and adjacent cannabis businesses, or others who have seen increased revenues or clientele with the growth of the Kentucky cannabis industry.
