Missouri topped the $30 million sales mark for the sixth consecutive month in August

Medical marijuana sales in Missouri showed growth again in August after a record-setting July.

Retail marijuana sales grew 7% in July. Newly released sales data from DHSS shows that August sales peaked slightly above the July growth.

August sales rose 0.36% over the prior month, establishing a new retail sales record for Missouri’s marijuana industry with $33.42 million in revenue for the month.

Cumulative sales for the program rise to $459.81 million since the first retail sale in October of 2020.

For six months, retail sales of marijuana in Missouri have consistently topped the $30 million mark.

Through August, Missouri registered $244.73 million dollars in sales, sales for calendar year 2021 totaled only $209.75 million.

Missouri now touts 197,690 active patients, and medical marijuana sales in the state are expected to surpass $360 million dollars in annual sales for 2022.

In November, Missourians will be tasked with determining the fate of adult use marijuana in the state. The approval of Amendment 3 would change the landscape of the marijuana industry in the state with sales expected to double those of the medical program.

Adult use is currently polling strongly, with Missouri voters responding in favor of marijuana legalization by just under a two-to-one ratio.
