The most highly anticipated product to enter Missouri’s medical market since flower first became available hit shelves in the Kansas City area.
fresh.green announced that they had supplied the first Missouri patient with COCO Labs FECO /RSO on Sunday.
The fresh.green website lists the price at $64.00 per gram.
KCCO has stated that they will sell FECO / RSO at cost.
Other dispensaries throughout the state are clamoring for supply.
Some of those retailers have preemptively put in place a framework for patient benefit programs, including Star Buds, who earlier this year announced the Star Buds Dispensary Cancer Relief Program, where qualifying cancer patients may purchase one gram of eligible RSO or FECO oil each month for one dollar.
In a traditional RSO protocol, a patient ramps up their usage, building tolerance and eventually consuming 60 grams of RSO in the first 90 days of treatment.
Rick Simpson, the man for whom RSO is named, suggests that patients start with three doses daily, spaced at 8-hour intervals.
Initial doses are recommended to be roughly the size of a half grain of short-grained dry rice. From there Simpson’s protocol recommends that after four days, (patients who are able) increase their intake every four days by doubling the dosage amount while maintaining the 8-hour intervals.
Simpson’s notes dictate that the average patient may take 3 to 5 weeks to build up tp a point where they are able to ingest 1 gram daily (spread across the three doses). The goal is for the patient to consume 60 grams in the first 90 days of treatment.
After the initial push, most patients reduce their intake to maintenance dosages totaling 1 to 2 grams per month.
Week 1: Start with 3 doses per day 8-hour intervals (A half grain of rice per dose)
Week 2-5: Double dosage every 4 days, maintaining 8-hour intervals
Week 5-12: 1 gram per day (split between 8-hour intervals) until the entire 60 grams of oil is consumed
Week 12+: Reduce to a maintenance dosage (1-2 grams total monthly)
